Different women prefer different things. If I had to make a guess I'd say the majority would prefer shorter hair and minimal/no facial hair.

All depends on the guy. Each guy will look better in something different. I usually like mid-length hair and no facial hair.. A little facial hair that is clean cut looks good. I really don't care for short buzz cuts though, ugh ! I've always dated guys with wavy, dark, mid-length hair for some reason. Long hair to the shoulders looks very handsome on some guys but not every guy !

Shorter hair, off the collar but not a shaven head and although some guys do look pretty good that way, most don't.

My husband has a mustache, which I love, and I like it when he kisses me and has a five o'clock shadow. Anything after "five o'clock" hurts because it is a bit too long and scratchy, something alot of guys probably aren't aware of. A short beard well-trimmed is ok on most guys but doesn't look good on all guys.

What is important is to ask your girl what she likes and try to please her. If you don't have a girl right now, might want to keep the face clean and the hair shorter until the special lady comes along.
