Clean-shaven for the most part -- but there are some guys who seem to have the artistic ability to wear a beard and mustache that's exactly right for their face and that can be VERY attractive. Only very young men who look like the soap opera guys with the raggy hair and stubble can pull off that 'just rolled outta bed' look -- it just looks dirty and unkempt on anyone else. There are guys with weak chins or lips who benefit from a well-chosen style of beard/mustache. Again, if you decide to keep the hair on your face, you have to be fastidious with the grooming! That can be more time-consuming than just keeping yourself clean-shaven!

They also distort the root if done repeatedly, leading to hair growing at strange angles. And you've got to let the hair grow to quite a length before you can repeat the exercise. It can also damage the skin and discolor it. Long-term use of waxing also causes bad wrinkles.

* Chemical depilatories strong enough to remove the hair are very likely to burn the skin, cause swelling and cause long-term discoloration of the skin.

* Laser is also liable to cause burning and discoloration and in any case only works effectively on a dark hair/light skin combinantion.

* Electrolysis is very liable to cause scarring and discoloration of the skin.

Which, like it or not, leaves shaving which does not damage the skin. Best done with a men's-style electric razor, the best of which, for women, are probably those from the men's range of Norelco razors (Philishave outside the US). Most women who try a men's Norelco wonder why nobody ever told them about it before.

Actually NO. It should do the contrary. Every time you wax, the hair itself becomes finer and easier to remove. The hair itself is less coarse although it will not cause less hair to grow back. The finer hair is less noticeable and easier to remove as well as less painful. Get your waxing done 4-6 weeks apart to desensitize it.

NONONONONONO!!! plucking and tweezing will make hair thicker because the roots are not fully pulled. My hairstylist told me this. I have never been able to .

When I was in my teens and I let my .."beard" grow - most of the hairs were real fine blond hairs. Hard to see unless you were real close.

So I did the old..shave as often as you can and it will make it thicken up.

I'm now 54 and it never worked.

A couple of times, I have let it grow and dye the beard black so people can see it. Die it every Sunday night, and by Friday morning - it is beginning to be a light brown.

These days when I let it grow, the little blond hairs now come out as white hairs.
